Dog of the Month

Dog of the Month is a Peace for Pits program for highlighting some of our long-term adoptables. Sometimes dogs stay with us for longer periods of time through no fault of their own – sometimes it’s because they need to recover from heartworm, sometimes it’s because they took a longer time to adjust to home life, sometimes it’s because they look different, and sometimes it’s just because other dogs caught adopter’s eyes first. All of these dogs are great dogs looking for their perfect furever home!

If a dog is featured as Dog of the Month, that means their adoption fee is waived and they come with a lifetime of behavioral and training support from Peace for Pits.

DOG OF THE MONTH: JILLY, JILLY-BEAN

Self summary:

Hi! I’m around 2-3 years old. People call me a ‘pocket pittie’ because I have a slim and compact 45 lb figure. I work hard on my fitness every day to maintain it!

I’m very extroverted. People describe me as energetic and bubbly. I like to maintain a social life and love playing ball with my people at the park or even just Netflix and chilling is fine by me.

I live with a 125 lb roommate that I get along great with!! Strangers kind of weird me out a little bit, but I open up quickly if you treat me to multiple dates 🙂

I’m really good at:

Not to brag, but I am an all-star at tricks. Show me some treats and I will pull out all of the stops to impress you. I know sit and shake, and learn new tricks in a heartbeat!

The first thing people notice about me:

Ears ears ears! Everyone likes to guess what my background is. I was adopted, so I’m not 100% sure, but they think I have some Jack Russell in me. I’m feisty at times but a total cuddle bug too!

Three things I couldn’t do without:

1. Cuddles

2. Treats!

3. Sticks?!

On a typical Friday night I am:

Like I said, I am happy just chilling at home next to my people. I’m down for any adventure you have in store!

You should message me if:

I’m looking for my future people. I’d be perfect in a single family home, or an active family with slightly older kids. I am super smart and take redirection easily. I do really good at home by myself and am respectful of my surroundings. Come meet me!
